Term & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to NYAYAAI (“NYAYAAI”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). NYAYAAI is an AI-powered legal technology platform designed to assist advocates, law students, legal professionals, judiciary aspirants, and citizens in understanding Indian law.

The Platform provides AI-powered legal research, legal document drafting, case management and intelligence, conversational legal assistance, and educational resources through NYAYAAI Law Academy.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the NYAYAAI website, applications, tools, features, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our applicable Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You may use NYAYAAI only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.

Users under 18 years of age may use the Platform only where permitted by applicable law and with the involvement or consent of a parent or legal guardian, as required.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering for an account and to update it when necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.

3. Our Services

NYAYAAI may offer the following features, subject to availability and applicable usage conditions.

3.1 AI Legal Research

The legal research feature assists users in discovering potentially relevant statutes, judgments, precedents, legal provisions, and legal concepts under Indian law.

Search results, case references, and explanations may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Users must independently verify the relevant authorities, citations, amendments, and current legal position before relying on research results.

3.2 AI Legal Drafting

The drafting feature assists users in preparing, editing, and refining legal documents, including notices, applications, petitions, agreements, and other legal drafts.

Generated documents are preliminary drafts and must be reviewed for factual accuracy, legal correctness, jurisdiction, procedural compliance, and suitability before signing, serving, submitting, or filing them.

3.3 Case Management and Intelligence

The Platform may allow users to upload case documents and obtain summaries, timelines, extracted facts, potential inconsistencies, evidence summaries, and identified legal issues.

These outputs are analytical aids only. They do not establish the truth or admissibility of evidence, guarantee that every relevant fact will be identified, or replace independent examination of the original documents.

3.4 AI Legal Assistant

The AI Legal Assistant provides conversational explanations of Indian legal concepts and related information.

Its responses may contain errors or omissions and should not be treated as definitive legal opinions, guaranteed outcomes, or a substitute for professional legal advice.

3.5 NYAYAAI Law Academy

NYAYAAI Law Academy may provide video lectures, courses, landmark judgment discussions, practical legal learning resources, and examination preparation materials.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, educational content does not constitute an accredited qualification or guarantee examination results, employment, or professional advancement.

3.6 Early Access and Beta Features

Certain features may be provided through early access, preview, trial, or beta programmes. Such features may be modified, restricted, suspended, or discontinued as the Platform develops.

Access to an early-access feature does not guarantee that the feature will remain available or form part of a future subscription plan.

4. No Legal Advice

NYAYAAI is a legal information and technology platform. The use of the Platform does not, by itself, establish an advocate–client relationship or create a professional engagement with NYAYAAI.

AI-generated research, explanations, and drafts are provided for informational, educational, and research assistance. They do not replace independent legal judgment or advice from a qualified advocate.

You are responsible for verifying applicable laws, judgments, citations, limitation periods, filing requirements, and other material legal details before taking action.

NYAYAAI does not guarantee a particular legal outcome, litigation result, or interpretation of law.

5. Accuracy and Limitations of Artificial Intelligence

The Platform may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, language models, document-processing technology, and third-party services.

Although we aim to provide useful and relevant results, AI-generated content may:

  • Contain factual errors, inaccurate legal interpretations, or incomplete explanations.

  • Include incorrect or unverifiable case names, citations, quotations, or statutory references.

  • Omit relevant judgments, legal exceptions, amendments, or contrary authorities.

  • Misinterpret scanned documents, handwritten text, evidence, or contextual information.

  • Generate summaries, timelines, or analyses that require correction.

  • Fail to reflect the most recent changes in legislation or judicial interpretation.

References to courts, eCourts, India Code, government databases, or other legal sources do not necessarily mean that every generated response has been independently verified.

Users must consult authoritative sources and exercise independent judgment before relying on any output.

6. User Accounts and Security

You agree not to share your account credentials in a manner that compromises account security or permits unauthorised use.

You must not impersonate another person, misrepresent your legal qualifications, or use another user's account without permission.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address security risks, material violations of these Terms, suspected unlawful activity, or legal requirements.

7. Uploaded Documents and User Content

Users may upload case files, judgments, contracts, notices, evidence, scanned documents, and other supported materials (“User Content”).

You retain the rights you hold in your User Content. Uploading a document does not automatically transfer ownership of that document to NYAYAAI.

You authorise NYAYAAI to process, host, and analyse your User Content to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the services you request, maintain platform security, and fulfil applicable legal obligations, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You represent that you have the necessary rights, authority, permission, or other lawful basis to upload and process the material.

You must not upload documents in violation of confidentiality obligations, court orders, privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or applicable law.

Legal documents may contain privileged communications, sensitive personal information, medical records, financial details, or confidential case information. You should redact unnecessary sensitive information and ensure you are authorised to upload the material before using the Platform.

Uploading a document does not, by itself, establish legal privilege or guarantee confidentiality against every third party.

Users should maintain their own copies of important documents. Storage, retention, backup, and export availability may depend on the features offered by the Platform.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform's software, design, branding, logos, interfaces, original content, and underlying technology are owned by or licensed to their respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, or misuse protected Platform materials except where expressly authorised or permitted by applicable law.

Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, you may use generated outputs for lawful personal or professional purposes.

AI-generated outputs may not be unique and may contain information derived from public or third-party sources. You are responsible for ensuring that your intended use complies with applicable copyright, confidentiality, and other legal requirements.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of third-party judgments, statutes, publications, or other materials to NYAYAAI or its users.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Violate applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements.

  • Create or distribute fraudulent legal documents or fabricate evidence.

  • Infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality rights.

  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code.

  • Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or databases.

  • Interfere with the security, performance, or operation of the Platform.

  • Scrape or systematically extract Platform data without authorisation.

  • Circumvent security mechanisms, access controls, or usage restrictions.

  • Misrepresent AI-generated material as an official court or government document.

  • Facilitate unlawful activities or misuse confidential information.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action, including restricting access or suspending accounts, subject to applicable law.

10. Third-Party Services

The Platform may provide links to or integrate with third-party websites, legal databases, AI service providers, cloud infrastructure, payment services, and other external resources.

Third-party services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies. NYAYAAI does not control all third-party content, availability, or practices.

Links to courts, government portals, or external legal databases do not necessarily indicate official affiliation, endorsement, or partnership.

11. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain Platform features, courses, or services may be offered free of charge, while others may require payment or a subscription.

Where payment is required, the applicable price, billing terms, usage limits, renewal conditions, and other material terms will be communicated before purchase.

Users are responsible for paying applicable charges and taxes as required by law.

Where automatic renewal is offered, the applicable renewal and cancellation terms will be disclosed during the purchase process.

Refunds, cancellations, and course-access conditions will be governed by the applicable purchase terms and refund policy, subject to mandatory rights under Indian law.

Any changes to pricing or subscription features will be communicated as required by applicable law and contractual obligations.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of NYAYAAI is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how personal information is collected, used, stored, disclosed, and otherwise processed.

Depending on the features you use, the information processed may include account information, prompts, uploaded documents, generated outputs, usage information, and technical data.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable Indian data protection and privacy laws.

Users should review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal, confidential, or sensitive information through the Platform.

For privacy-related questions or requests, contact info@nyaya.ai.

13. Availability and Changes to Services

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Features may be updated, modified, restricted, or discontinued for operational, technical, security, or legal reasons.

Maintenance, network failures, third-party outages, and circumstances beyond our reasonable control may affect service availability.

Where required by applicable law or contractual obligations, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that all AI responses will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a specific legal matter. We do not guarantee that every relevant authority, fact, legal issue, or procedural requirement will be identified.

We do not guarantee that generated documents will satisfy the requirements of every court, tribunal, authority, or recipient.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any statutory right, consumer protection, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NYAYAAI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from the use of the Platform where such exclusion is legally permissible.

Users remain responsible for independently reviewing AI-generated material before relying on it, making legal decisions, or filing documents.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

All limitations under this section are subject to mandatory consumer protections and other non-excludable rights under Indian law.

16. Suspension and Termination

You may discontinue using the Platform at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of material violations of these Terms, security threats, suspected unlawful activity, non-payment, or legal requirements.

Where appropriate, notice and an opportunity to address the issue may be provided, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary or notice is prohibited by law.

Following termination, access to certain features may cease. The handling and retention of personal information and uploaded documents will remain subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.

17. Amendments to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in our services, technology, security practices, or applicable law.

Updated Terms will be published on the Platform with a revised effective or last-updated date. Where required by law, we will provide notice or obtain consent before implementing material changes.

Continued use following an update will constitute acceptance only to the extent recognised under applicable law.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Disputes arising from the use of the Platform will be addressed in accordance with applicable Indian law. Users retain any right to approach a competent court, consumer commission, regulator, or other forum where such right is available under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms restricts mandatory jurisdictional rights or statutory remedies.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of any right or remedy.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable service-specific or purchase terms, govern your use of NYAYAAI.

Where additional terms apply to a particular feature, subscription, or course, those terms will apply alongside these Terms, subject to applicable law.
